I never knew Bobby is that good actor. Class of 83' is all for show, but nothing for substance. An interesting premise fails to utilise on its positive sides and subsequently progressed itself into an abysmal finish.

Bobby Deol's comeback, an intriguing plotline and a bunch of promos from Netlfix had me really convinced about its falsely stated greatness. Maybe a bit too much for my dismay! The movie takes off on a high note. Art direction, set designs, old-school narration all giving us the feel of 90's classics. These positive signs; all of them indicating a power packed aftermath. But to my exaggerated hopes, It provided nothing but disappointment!
The main problem here is in the writing.
Especially the source material given to all the characters on screen. They lacked depth, integrity and most of all, the attachment factor!
Performances are noteworthy without any doubt. Bobby Deol's enigmatic presence alongside a strong showing from the young debutants; indeed deserve all the praise but that alone couldn't save the film. Characterization is so weak that I simply couldn't establish any sort of connection to the aforementioned roles. I couldn't feel their emotions at all. Which was absolutely necessary, keeping in mind some particular events that occur in the film. The story demands strong relevance in order to fully flourish. Sadly that didn't happen!
Red Chillies Entertainment, the production company owned by SRK, has always been good with its production value and asthetics.
If you have seen Bard of Blood, Betaal in recent times;
You cannot deny their prowess in the field of visual artistry and Prosthetics!

Visually it's a stunner!
Vintage styling in the imagery as well as in the sound score really lefts a long lasting impression!
The old school footprint is highly present in the sound designing! Full of nostalgia that surely bring back lot of memories!
Unfortunately, those are not the only aspects that make a film great. It takes more to be relevant in this ever growing catalogue of filmography.
To conclude, In simpler words; it's a Below average one which promised a lot in regards to drama and action but to my surprise ended with a rather forgettable experience.

Basically his face carrying stern expressions for entire movie is what he does always in his every movie. Fortunately for him it was what required in this particular movie. His lack of acting skills, stern expressionless face, monotonous dialogue delivery and stiff body language which are actually his drawbacks for entire career are combined together to character requirements of this particular role. Basically tailored role for Bobby's drawbacks as an actor to give an illusion of impactful performance. But a smart viewer can definately spot his limitations in almost every scene. Practically every other performance is better than him in entire movie. Also I feel Anup Soni is lacking impact in his dialogue delivery. He just simply fails in convincing that he is antagonist. Overall not much impressed. But newcomers definately have bright future.
